Theft Incident - Identification Sought
Fellow Shareholders,
On the afternoon of Sunday 1/26 an incident occurred in the building that we want to make everyone aware of. At 6:05PM an unknown person entered the building as people were walking out. They got in the elevator and proceeded to blow their nose and wipe it on the walls. They got off on the 4th floor and turned right.
At 2:15AM (now Monday morning) they reenter the elevator on the 4th floor and proceed to go to the lobby to loiter around a bit and eventually took the building vacuum that lived behind the desk and walked out with it. This vacuum was used by Granit to clean the carpets, stairs, and other places in the building that need vacuuming.
This was discovered Monday morning and the police were called and a report was filed by Granit and a representative from the Co-op Board. We will follow up with detectives when they reach out and provide evidence from the surveillance system.
It is vitally important to remember not to let any unknown people in to the building at any time and to be cognizant of anyone trying to enter when you have the front door open.

In the meantime we will be purchasing a new vacuum and reviewing security procedures to see if there is anything that we can tighten up to ensure that this does not happen in the future.
