Building Updates: Smoke & Moisture Remediation

Dear 59 Pineapple Residents,

As a follow up to Tuesday’s communication, there are several updates regarding the 8/2/22 fire.

  • There are dehumidifiers and generators running in the North side of the building. These are meant to address the residual moisture from the FDNY hoses (to prevent mold from developing in the building) and the lingering smell from the fire. We kindly ask that residents remain patient while this critical step takes place. Further cosmetic updates (including painting and repairs) will then begin.

  • The FDNY and insurance auditor have both conducted their investigations. More information will be shared in the coming weeks. In the meantime, it is once again advised that residents reach out to their personal insurance providers for coverage regarding any damaged personal belongings.

  1. STORAGE AND MAIL ROOMS: As there was water damage to the storage and mail rooms, we remind all residents to please check their storage cages, pick up all packages from the mailroom and empty out their mail boxes as soon as possible.

  2. BUILDING SMOKE DETECTORS: We ask that all residents please make sure their smoke detectors are in place and fully operational. Please reach out to Adventure Properties with any issues or concerns regarding smoke detectors.

We will continue to share information as it becomes available.

The Board of Directors, 59 Pineapple Street
